I Grew Up Around Chiropractic Care

Dr Brett photoI spent my whole life inspired by my father. He was a chiropractor for 40 years. He adjusted me for the first time when I was 2 hours old. As I grew up I saw the joy and fulfillment that chiropractic care brought to his life, my family’s life, and the the lives of his patients. I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor from the time I was old enough for someone to ask me “what do you want to be when you grow up?”

Education

When it was time to go to college my plans never changed. I started at Penn State University where I got my bachelors degree in vertebrate physiology and clinical nutrition. I truly loved my time at penn state and still to this day visit frequently. My family attends all the football games and various other events.

Then it was on to chiropractic school where I attended Palmer College Of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. I learned so much about anatomy, physiology, and the basic sciences, but the true gift was not in the facts. The true gift was truly learning about the human being.

My Philosophy

Humans are so much more than just the sum of their parts. We are an intricate design of structure, physiology and emotion. We are designed to function as a whole and if even one little part starts to malfunction, all of the other parts must compensate. Finding out the underlying cause of a problem is what we do. It’s what we are trained to do. Pain relief is just a by-product of actually correcting the problem. We see patients that have suffered for years be able to play with their kids again. We have helped new born babies who couldn’t stop crying and children who have asthma. It makes it easy to get up every morning and go to work!
